Metal Roof Repair in Branson
Metal Roofs Out Here Have a Tube of Caulk Holding Them Together.
You bought metal because it was supposed to last 40 years. Then a leak showed up at year 14, your father-in-law climbed up there with a caulk gun, and now you've got a roof that looks like somebody glued a mirror to it. Metal roof repair in Branson is its own thing. Different fasteners. Different sealants. Different walking technique. Different everything. The good news is, when it's done right, metal goes back to doing what you paid it to do. Last forever.

Metal Roofs Don't Fail. How They Were Fixed Last Time Fails.
Here's the thing about metal roofs in the Ozarks. The metal itself almost never gives up. Galvalume, galvanized, aluminum, copper, the panels last decades. What fails is the stuff connecting and sealing those panels. Exposed fasteners back out and let water in around the screw heads. Butyl tape and sealants dry out at seams. Trim and flashing detach at the ridge. The boot around the plumbing vent splits in UV after about ten years. And then there's the homeowner repair pattern out here, which is to slap silver caulk on every failure point and hope for the best.
We see this every week. A roof that should be in great shape is leaking because someone (often well-meaning) used the wrong sealant in the wrong place, or used the right sealant on metal that wasn't cleaned first, or replaced screws with the wrong gasket type, or stepped on the panels in a place that crushed the ribs. The damage compounds. Now what should have been a $300 fix is a multi-panel repair, and the original culprit is no longer answering the group chat.
The other pattern we see is the homeowner who's been told they need a full replacement when the actual problem is one bad section of sidewall flashing and three failed pipe boots. Real metal roof repair is targeted. You fix what's broken. You don't tear off ten panels because the contractor doesn't want to do the precision work.

A Message From Tyler Arnold
If you've got a metal roof and you're on this page, odds are something is leaking, lifting, or loud (yes, that thumping in the wind is a real symptom, and yes, there's a real cause for it).
Here's how Big Chief handles metal. First, we inspect carefully. Metal panels can be walked, but only in specific places. The ribs and standing seams handle weight. The flat pans between them dent if you step wrong, and a dented pan becomes a low spot that holds water, which becomes a future leak. Our crews are trained to walk metal correctly. We use soft-soled boots, we step where it's safe, and we don't create new problems while diagnosing old ones.
Second, we tell you the truth about what's actually wrong. Most metal leaks we find come from four places: failed pipe boots, separated sealant at panel seams, fastener gasket failure (especially on screw-down and exposed-fastener systems past year 10), and bent or improperly sealed sidewall and headwall flashing. None of those require a full roof replacement. They require somebody to fix them properly with matching color screws, the right butyl or polyurethane sealant for the joint type, and a steady hand. We use Sherwin-Williams color-matched coatings when paint touch-up is needed, and we never use the silver-caulk-for-everything approach that turned your roof into a kindergarten art project.
If your metal roof is acting up, call us. Bring us a quote from somebody else if you've already got one. We'll tell you straight whether they're recommending the right fix or upselling you on a replacement you don't need.
Our Roof Repair Services
Other Things We Fix
Metal is one of several roof types we work on across Branson, Hollister, Forsyth, Ozark, Nixa, and the surrounding service area. Here's the full repair menu.
Roof Repair
We handle roof repair in Branson the same way we'd want it handled at our own house. We find the actual problem, fix it right the first time, and tell you exactly what's going on along the way.
Storm Damage Roof Repair
Real storm damage roof repair in Branson should look completely different. We'll come out, take real photos, write up a real Roof Report, and tell you straight what you actually have.
Roof Leak Repair
Most leaks aren't where the drip is. Water travels along the underside of decking before it shows up on your ceiling, which is why a stain in the kitchen might be coming from a flashing failure ten feet away. We find the actual source, not just the stain.
Emergency Roof Repair
Active leak, storm damage with the rain still coming, or a tree just took out a section of your roof? We run an emergency line and prioritize active leaks. Usually out within 24 hours of a call, often same day during a storm.
Shingle Roof Repair
The most common repair we do. Wind-lifted shingles, hail bruising, age-cracked tabs, exposed nails, missing pieces from a storm. We replace the damaged sections, blend the new shingles into the existing roof, and seal everything properly.
Metal Roof Repair
Metal roofs are tough, but the failure points are usually at the seams, fasteners, or the flashings where the metal meets walls or chimneys. We diagnose what's actually failing and fix it without compromising the rest of the panel system.
Slate Roof Repair
Slate roofs are beautiful and built to last 75 to 100 years, but they need a specific kind of repair work. Wrong fasteners, wrong replacement tiles, or wrong walking patterns can crack tiles you didn't even touch. Slate repair takes a trained hand.
Tile Roof Repair
Concrete or clay tile, broken pieces, slipped tiles, failed underlayment, or cracked tiles from foot traffic. Tile repair requires precise color matching and proper handling. We don't crack three tiles fixing one.

Questions Branson Homeowners Ask About Metal Roof Repair
How long should a metal roof last?
A properly installed standing seam metal roof should last 40 to 70 years. Screw-down and exposed-fastener systems usually go 25 to 40 years before the fasteners or gaskets need major service. The panels themselves often outlive the fasteners by decades, which is why most metal roof repair in Branson focuses on screws, sealants, and flashing rather than the metal itself.
How much does metal roof repair in Branson cost?
Most repairs run between $400 and $2,500. Replacing pipe boots and resealing a couple of sidewall flashings sits on the lower end. Replacing all the exposed fasteners on an older screw-down roof, or addressing multiple panel issues, runs higher. We give you a written estimate before any work starts, with itemized line items so you see exactly what you're paying for.
Why is my metal roof leaking when it's only 12 years old?
Almost always the fasteners or the sealants, not the metal. On exposed-fastener systems, the rubber gaskets under the screw heads start failing around year 10 to 15. UV breaks them down, freeze-thaw cycles work the screws loose, and water finds its way in. The good news is, this is a fixable problem that doesn't require replacing the roof. The bad news is, half the contractors in town will quote you for replacement anyway.
What's the difference between standing seam and exposed fastener metal roofs?
Standing seam panels lock together at raised seams with no visible screws on the face of the roof, which makes them more weather-resistant and longer-lasting. Exposed-fastener (also called screw-down, R-panel, or corrugated) shows the screw heads on the panel surface, which is cheaper to install but means you'll need to address fastener replacement every 12 to 20 years. Both types are common in the Ozarks. We repair both.
Can I walk on my metal roof to take a look?
You can, but carefully and only in the right spots. Step on the ribs of a standing seam, or directly over the rafters on an exposed-fastener panel. Never step in the flat pan area between ribs, especially on hot or sunny days when the metal expands. A dent in a flat pan becomes a low spot, a low spot becomes standing water, and standing water becomes a future leak. If you're unsure, just don't.
What causes oil-canning, and is it a real problem?
Oil-canning is the visible waviness or rippling you sometimes see on flat metal panels, especially in direct sunlight. It's a cosmetic issue, not a structural one. Causes include thermal expansion, panel handling during install, and tight tolerances on the underlayment. Oil-canning doesn't cause leaks and doesn't shorten roof life. If yours is severe and you want to address it, panel replacement is the only real fix, but for most owners it's a "live with it" situation.
Will my insurance cover metal roof repair?
Sometimes. Hail strikes, fallen trees, and wind damage are usually covered if they're significant. Cosmetic dings from small hail often aren't, because most policies have a separate cosmetic damage exclusion for metal roofs (worth checking yours). Age-related fastener failure isn't covered. We document everything during inspection so if it qualifies for a claim, you've got photo evidence ready.
Why does my metal roof make popping or ticking sounds?
Thermal expansion and contraction. Metal moves more than asphalt or tile, especially during temperature swings, and that movement causes the panels to shift against fasteners and trim, which makes noise. It's normal. It's only a problem when the movement is so extreme that fasteners back out or sealant fails, which is what we check during inspections. The noise itself doesn't damage anything.
Can you match the color of my existing panels?
Usually, yes. Most metal roof manufacturers use a standard color palette, and we can match Galvalume, white, charcoal, hunter green, burgundy, and most other common colors. For paint touch-up on existing panels, we use Sherwin-Williams color-matched coatings designed for metal roofing. If you have a custom or discontinued color, we'll source the closest match and show you a sample before any work starts.
How do I find a metal roofer I can actually trust?
Ask these five questions before letting anyone climb up there:
- What type of metal roof do I have, and how can you tell?
- What sealant or butyl tape do you use for seam repairs, and why?
- Will you use color-matched fasteners and touch-up paint?
- Will you show me photos of the inspection and the completed repair?
- Will you put your workmanship warranty in writing?
If a contractor stumbles on any of those, especially the first one, they don't do enough metal work to be on your roof. As your metal roof repair in Branson team, we answer all five before you've even agreed to an inspection.
